Ceramic Veneers

When you look in the mirror, do you notice discolored, misshapen teeth instead of the brilliant, beautiful smile you want? If you are self-conscious about your appearance due to less than perfect teeth, ceramic veneers may be the right solution for you. These thin coverings disguise those nagging aesthetic imperfections, giving you a more attractive look and a self-confidence boost at the same time. Dr. Blake offers ceramic veneers to patients that want to take their smiles to the next level.

Ceramic veneers are porcelain coverings that go over the front of your teeth to create a clean, uniform appearance. The purpose of veneers is to enhance your smile and strengthen teeth that have succumbed to wear and tear over time. They are customized to fit over your teeth precisely, creating a result that is as natural as it is beautiful. Thin but very durable, ceramic veneers are considered a fixed prosthetic that can improve your look for many years.

Reasons for Ceramic Veneers

There are many situations where ceramic veneers might be the right choice for you:

  • Teeth that are permanently discolored or stained
  • Misshapen teeth that detract from your overall appearance
  • Chipped or broken teeth
  • Small gaps between the teeth

About The Process

Ceramic veneers are placed in a two-step process. During your first appointment, Dr. Blake will remove sufficient enamel from the fronts of your teeth to provide room for the veneers to fit smoothly above the gum line. He will also create an impression of your teeth that allows the lab to create veneers that perfectly conform to the size and shape of your teeth. Finally, he will place temporary veneers over your teeth to protect them and help them maintain a uniform appearance while you are waiting for your permanent veneers to be created.

Your second appointment will be scheduled once your permanent veneers are completed, usually within a few weeks. At this meeting, Dr. Brown will remove your temporary veneers and cement your permanent set to your natural teeth. There is no recovery process after ceramic veneers.
